I would like to extend a special thank you for entering the signature pillow contest. I was truly delighted with the results. All the pillows were so lovely it was really hard to pick a winner. The pillows were on display at local hospitals in Oakland County.
The winning pillow was sent in by Marybeth Schlau. She made in the pillow in honor of her sister Amy who is a breast cancer survivor. The color combination she chose is reminiscent of a favorite outfit her sister wore as a little girl in a family photo. It was a light pink sweater dress, white tights, and red patent leather shoes. "As for the hand…..In my family, if the driver makes a sudden stop, it is instinctive to extend your right hand across the chest of the passenger as a gesture of care and protection. Thus, the hand on the heart is an simple endearing symbol to encourage women through their recovery", writes Marybeth.
The pillow and its story make this a true inspiration for others who are in the fight against breast cancer. The pillow, along with the others will make it's rounds on display throughout local hospitals around the Metro Detroit area.
Thank you so much Marybeth!
